Three quarterfinal spots up for grabs
Uzbekistan are the fifth team to secure their place in the quarterfinals, joining Qatar, Australia, Jordan, and Tajikistan.
We have three more spots remaining, with Saudi Arabia vs South Korea, Iran vs Syria and Bahrain vs Japan set to take place later.

Fifth quarterfinal for Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan are set to make their fifth appearance in the Asian Cup quarterfinals, facing Qatar in the match on Saturday.
They have improved on their performance from the 2019 edition when they were knocked out in the round of 16.
Uzbekistan’s best performance was in 2011 when they finished fourth in the tournament.

Uzbekistan seal hard-fought win
Turg’unboyev opened the scoring in the first half for Uzbekistan and doubled their lead in the second half as the Central Asian side sealed a hard-fought 2-1 win over Thailand.
For Thailand, Supachok scored a sensational long-range shot, but it proved to be a consolation goal for the Southeast Asian side.
