Account Access and Security

What benefits come with creating an Al Jazeera account?

Creating an Al Jazeera account streamlines news access, ensuring a personalised experience across your devices.

  • The Reading List enables saving articles for future reference.
  • Following favourite authors and topics ensures timely updates.
  • The “For You” section curates personalised articles and videos.
  • Notifications and Alerts deliver timely breaking news and updates.

Essentially, an Al Jazeera account provides diverse news access and enhances interaction through personalised features, making it easier to access the most relevant content in a streamlined manner.

How do I create an account or sign in?

To create an account or sign in, click the “Sign Up” button at the top right of the page. You can register with your email address or use a social account to login. We currently support social login through Google, Apple, or Facebook.

Why do I need to allow personalisation to create an account?

Personalisation is at the heart of our user account features—it helps us recommend articles, save your reading list, and send you updates that match your interests. That’s why we ask for your permission to personalise your experience when you create an account.

If you prefer non-personalised experience, you can still browse and read all our content without signing in. However, features like saving articles, getting personalised recommendations, and receiving tailored notifications are only available to users who enable personalisation and create an account.
